Tec Diver Instructor-Learn to Teach the Basics of Tec Diving:

This is an introductry level tec instructor course designed for those who are interested in teaching students about more redundant equipment configuration, carrying a spare cylinder, and conducting limited, planned decompression dives. It does not take the divers beyond recreational depth limits and limited, non-accelerated decompression dives are allowed. However, it is used to greatly improve your student's dive skills as this the same introductory course all of the Tec students take. As a Tec Diver Instructor you will be able to teach the Tec 40 Course.

Some of the skills you will learn to teach are:

  • Plan and make decompression dives with no more than 10 minutes of decompression
  • Conduct these decompression dives within recreational depth limits (130’)
  • Use a single cylinder of decompression gas (EANx 50 max) to add conservatism to required decompression

Details:

  • Total course hours: 50 hours
  • Minimum Age: 18
  • Prerequisite:
    • Open Water Scuba Instructor
    • Enriched Air Instructor
    • Deep Diver Specialty Instructor
    • Have a minimum of 100 logged dives where at least 20 dives were made with enriched air nitrox, 25 dives were deeper than 60' and at least 15 dives were deeper than 100'

Tec Deep Diver Instructor-Train the Next Generation of Technical Divers:

The DSAT Tec Deep Instructor course incorporates instructional philosophies and course goals that directly address the demanding and challenging nature of technical diving. The DSAT Tec Deep Instructor course prepares you to conduct the Tec Deep Diver course and addresses the philosophy, organization, practical considerations, promotion and other aspects of teaching the course. As a Tec Deep Diver Instructor you will be able to teach the Tec 40, Tec 45, and Tec 50 Courses.

Some of the skills you will learn to teach are:

  • Plan and make single or multiple decompression dives to a maximum depth of 165’ using air, EANx, and/or oxygen
  • Use tec diving equipment and appropriate gasses to conduct multiple stop decompression dives
  • Use two cylinders of decompression gas (EANx and/or oxygen) to accelerate or add conservatism to required decompression
  • Conduct extended no stop dives using two cylinders of EANx or oxygen

Details:

  • Total course hours: 150 hours
  • Minimum Age: 18
  • Prerequisite:
    • Open Water Scuba Instructor
    • Enriched Air Instructor
    • Deep Diver Specialty Instructor
    • Have a minimum of 100 logged dives where at least 20 dives were made with enriched air nitrox, 25 dives were deeper than 60' and at least 15 dives were deeper than 100 feet'.
