Dive Technician Instructor Courses:

Are you an instructor that is interested in teaching about the aspects of diving that involves equipment maintenance and repair or about mixing different gas blends of Enriched Air or Trimix? Our Dive Technician Instructor Courses will provide you with these oportunities. We offer a series of technician instructor courses from PSI/PCI and PADI to help you learn to teach these courses. PSI/PCI Fill Station Operator and HAZMAT Instructor (Visual Cylinder Inspector):

Upon successful completion of the Visual Cylinder Inspector Course, you will be certified to teach the Fill Station Operator and HAZMAT Course. The Fill Station Operator and HAZMAT Course is required for all dive shop employees including those who do not fill cylinders and any non-employee filling cylinders, by OSHA regulation.

Some Topics Covered in the Course:
  • Training for the operation and basic maintenance of high pressure air systems.
  • Informal cylinder inspections.
  • Government regulations applicable to dive shops.
  • Safe, efficient use of fill station control panels and fill whips.

PADI Equipment Specalist Instructor:

Learn how to train others to evaluate and possibly correct minor equipment problems such as a blown o-ring, simple regulator problems, wetsuit tears or broken fin straps, including how to manage basic scuba equipment adjustments. You will learn to teach basic scuba equipment maintenance, care, and adjustments, that your students may encounter on any dive. This course is geared to assist the professional instructor in teaching others how to make basic adjustments at the divesite.

Some of the skills that are covered are:
  • Review the theory, principles and operation of scuba diving equipment.
  • Learn to teach about routine, recommended care and maintenance procedures, and equipment storage.
  • Learn how to teach about overcoming common problems with equipment and recommended professional maintenance procedures.
  • Learn how to teach suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new gear.

  • Prerequisite: Open Water Scuba Instructor and a certification from an equipment manufacturer to service their equipment
DSAT Trimix Gas Blender Instructor:

In this course you will learn how to train students to become qualified Trimix gas blenders. You will review the physical properties of oxygen, its associated hazards, handling requirements, and what cleaning equipment is necessary. Finally, you will practice different methods of obtaining the desired enriched air mix and the various methods used to obtain proper helium mixes. In addition to blending mixes, you will demonstrate how to properly clean cylinders, regulators, and other equipment to be safely used in oxygen service applications.

Course Information:
You will learn how to teach students about the physical properties of oxygen, its associated hazards, handling requirements, and what cleaning equipment is necessary. Finally, you will demonstrate different methods of obtaining the desired enriched air mix and the various methods used to obtain proper helium mixes.
